Teledyne TSS Meridian Surveyor Gyrocompass
The Meridian is a compact, simple to operate master heading reference instrument employing the
characteristics of a dynamically tuned gyro and the effect of gravity and earth’s rotation to produce a
true north reference. Unlike almost every other commercially available system the new Meridian
Subsea gyrocompass utilises a dynamically tuned gyrosphere to provide exceptional performance on
almost any vessel to a level of performance unmatched by even the latest fibre optic designs.The
remarkably stable heading can be maintained in turn rates in excess of 180° per second making the
system ideal for sub-sea use on remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), templates and sub-sea
construction.Depth rated, the Meridian Sub-sea has been designed for even the smallest of ROVs,
however its performance and resistance to shock, vibration and sudden rotation makes it an ideal
subsea unit for dynamic offshore environments.
